Removal of the factory fuel tank skid is much the same as the JT, just with fewer bolts to remove since it does not have the DEF tank at the end of the tank like the JT does. At 13:00 and 13:50 in the video, you won’t need to install the -24 strip because it’s not in the JL. At 14:12, you won’t need to use spacers as they are not in the JL kit. The rear support brackets on the JL fuel skid use carriage bolts which you feed through the skid from the inside and have the thread sticking out the outside of the skid where you can attach the bracket and nuts and washers. You can see the square bolt holes on the back of the fuel skid so just make sure the bolt head is on the inside of the skid where it will be touching the plastic gas tank. A piece of tape can help hold the carriage bolt heads to the skid to they are easier to install.
One thing to emphasize as you start to bolt everything together is to leave all the bolts loose until every piece is installed. Then after all pieces are installed, you can go through and tighten all bolts.
Let us know if you have any questions and we’ll try to help finalize the install. Again, we apologize for not having the complete instructions…we’re working to catch up that now.
